I absolutely loved this series. I wasn’t sure in the beginning since it’s subtitled, but was so
Engrossed in it I couldn’t stop watching! I watched the entire series in 1 sitting. I want to watch more of her. It was a find if you love investigated murders.

Reminiscent of the movie, " Fargo", but with sub-titles.
Similar to Midsomer Murders but Swedish.

A very complex and very dark series. Well worth watching unless you're into rainbows and perpetual happiness. Different from the run of American series. A major character in REbecka Martinsson, the displaced lawyer, but it aslo includes Mella, the police detective and a woman with her own troubles. You can tell that the further this series goes, the better the subordinate characters will become.

Rebecka Martinsson is a successful if unconventional lawyer & investigator (they call them prosecutors is Sweden apparently) in Stockholm, who gets called home to where she grew up, orphaned after her parents died in a car crash. Home is Kurravarra, a town in Northern Sweden near the Artic Circle, where the weather can get severe but the scenery is marvelous. What's clear is that Rebecka longs for her earlier life, so she hooks up with a local police lieutenant and helps solve several murders. This is not your conventional crime show as Rebecka is not your conventional lawyer. Four episodes well worth watching!

I'm a big fan of Scandinavian crime series and highly recommend this one. I liked the characters who are much more real than American television. Each of the stories were compelling.

Not very good. Well, not very good whenever the actress playing Rebecka is on the screen. Not so bad when she is not there. Don't expect any nice scenery unless you like trees and bogs. Won't watch Series 2 if there is one.

Based on the Asa Larsson books. Read those. They are a good read.

Frightening or Intense Scenes: Shows some torture, and dying scenes, pursuit by murderers, etc etc.. Killing of family members, of a pet dog! Suicides! Not overly graphic, but upsetting! May be too much for sensitive viewers!
