"After the sickness known as the Doom destroyed civilization, magick has become commonplace, and Fallon Swift has spent her young years learning its ways. [She] cannot live in peace until she frees those who have been preyed upon by the government or the fanatical Purity Warriors, endlessly hunted or locked up in laboratories ... She is determined to save even those who have been complicit with this evil out of fear or weakness--if, indeed, they can be saved. Strengthened by the bond she shares with her fellow warrior, Duncan, Fallon has already succeeded in rescuing countless shifters and elves and ordinary humans. Now she must help them heal--and rediscover the light and faith within themselves"--

I have been a big Nora Roberts fan for decades, but was quite disappointed in this wrap up to the Year One trilogy. The book seemed "phoned in" and shallow. Battle scenes felt obligatory and every situation seemed too perfect in its outcome. I enjoyed the first two and the premise, but this outing lacked grittiness and depth. Even the romance, both physical and emotional, lacked authenticity. I was left wanting more, especially more of the earlier Nora Roberts. I felt this was more of a let's get on the paranormal, end of the world, fantasy-laden apocalypse bandwagon than a heartfelt effort to tell a story.

This third book concluded the trilogy and ended things nicely although I felt that the pace of this book was slower than the fist two in the series. I did enjoy it and I am of fan of her writing. If you like fantasy, you might like this trilogy.

I liked the first book of the series but was disappointed with this last book. It seemed to drag and took too long to get to the conclusion. Missed opportunity for confrontation with the leader of the Purity Warriors and even the confrontation with the President of the US was disappointing. There should have been more battles involving Petra and her mother IMO. This book should not be compared to The Stand--The Stand was far better--better characters, better story line.

I enjoyed this series, YEAR ONE was first, BLOOD and BONE #2 this was the conclusion.

I thought the ending was perfect for the series. I recommend this series if you are into fantasy books. It was different and kept my interest throughout the series.

This series was recommended to me and I am glad I picked it up.

When a sickness called the Doom hits the world, the government starts finding all the elves, shifters and humans that they can to keep in inhumane conditions while they experiment on them and kill some of them. Fallon Swift, known as The One, has a bond with Duncan and together they free as many as they can. They go around the country getting people to help fight for their cause. I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end.
