I'm surprised at how much I loved this movie. I'm definitely a skeptic when it comes to watching "re-makes" of popular classics (specifically Disney fairytales), but this did not disappoint me in the least, and I have to say that I really, thoroughly enjoyed it. Although I had my doubts in the beginning, it won me over; the girl who played Alice for example, was a great actress. I love how Absalom was stressing that she "wasn't yet Alice". The whole message of the movie was Alice finding herself again, not what others thought she should be, not what others defined her as, but who she REALLY was. And that turned out to be...well...daring, adventurous, bold...and a little mad too. The Mad Hatter was terrific; Johnny Depp played his role very well. It complimented Alice nicely, and it made me cry when Alice came back to the regular world. They became such good friends; I became very much attached to them both. The rest of the characters were wonderful (specifically the Cheshire cat, who has become a favorite of mine), and the story had great pace. Definitely will watch again. I loved it.
