I was left speechless by this book - a Stockholm Syndrome situation where the captors and captives live side-by-side in harmony as the relationships between them deepen and complicate. The book has no sole main character, but Gen, the translator, is intimately entwined in the plot since he is the only person that can bridge the many language barriers between the terrorists and the hostages. The ending is not picture perfect by any means, but it is a wild ride and one that I greatly enjoyed.
