This book was absolutely phenomenal! Cassandra Clare did a wonderful job concluding the series and tied up all of the loose ends. This novel was nothing short of unforgettable. City of Heavenly Fire was a deeply affecting, real page turner with both heartbreaking and truly happy moments. I found myself hooked onto the plot, action, adventures and characters. Speaking of characters, I absolutely adored some of the new characters in the novel including Emma Carstairs. The action sequences were amazing as the battle most fans of the series waited for was introduced. I don’t have much to say about the final book without spoiling it and because there was nothing I didn’t love about it. Sure, it was quite slow like the last novel but it was worth getting through to see the end results of the series. I’d highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fantasy and action. While some of the novels in the series aren’t the best, it is worth the read. Rating – 5/5. @Average_Bookworm of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

This last book in The Mortal Instruments series is honestly one of the best books I’ve ever read. The book is packed with adventure, strategy, and the characters grow so much. This novel was completely satisfying for me because it had the romantic aspect, the action aspect, and the suspense aspect all in perfect proportion. There were times when it felt a bit slow, but the author made up for it with fast-paced and action-filled chapters. It has, what I feel is, a perfect ending to the series. All loose ends were tied up and it completed the series so perfectly that I couldn’t help but smile. Cassandra Clare is one of my favourite authors, and this book helped to remind me why. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the shadow hunter universe and has read the previous mortal instruments novels. I rate this book 4/5.

Big, dramatic conclusions are always my favourite things to read in a series. I really had enjoyed reading up to this point, especially since this conclusion was so unpredictable. Magic, suspense, and drama entrails readers to dive deeper and deeper through the adventures and mysteries behind the scenes. As usual, the last book of the series, also this one, is one of the best written out of the whole collection. However, I may warn readers as it is a very heavy read, but some others will find themselves breezing through it. what do you think will happen in the very end? Read on to find out! 5/5 stars.
