And Sarah has done it again! Honestly, you have the readers that hate the repetition in her books and then there are the readers who just keep reading and can't get enough. Although I see why certain readers may find it tiresome, I enjoy reading her work because every girl's story is uniquely her own. Take this protagonist. A young girl who has been brought up by her wedding-planner mom, she thought she had known everything from the festive mood to the crying. But then, she meets someone. I think what I like most about her books is that there is a certain innocence in love and teenagers posed. Society today glorifies a lot of physical aspects, but Sarah Dessen will pull at your heart and soul. That is the ultimate success of an author, no? - @Siri of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library What a pleasantly surprising book. I loved the idea of basing a YA novel with a wedding planner setting, and Dessen crafted the story around this central idea with perfect sense. Louna has been brought up by her renowned wedding planner mom and her trusty right hand, William. All three are unwilling to believe in love after what their past has held, from abandoning husbands to victims of school shootings. But when a wedding brings a new recruit to their business, it seems as though love is back in the air; once and for all. Personally, this was my first book by the widely acclaimed “queen of YA” Sarah Dessen and although generally, it didn’t disappoint, there were definitely some flaws. Some factors near the end seemed rushed, and Louna’s time with Ethan was so unrealistic and infuriating. Luckily, I enjoyed reading about Ambrose and the chemistry between these two characters was evident. Can’t wait to pick up more books from this author!
