FEARED is a really interesting story and the usual good fare from Scottoline. Deals with threats to the firm, murder, and the issue of reverse discrimination, legal malpractice, and impending motherhood. Only one thing bothered me about the story. When the firm's existence was threatened right at the outset of the book, the partners made a number very obvious tactical mistakes in how they responded to that complicated things for them, such as quickly holding a press conference where they got blindsided. I get that the threat was very real and from a total scumbag enemy of Mary's. And I get that they felt they needed to "fight back." What I didn't get was why they choose to take some of the actions they did. It seems out of character for a group of well-grounded lawyers who are usually very strategic and well-prepared when they act. The good news is that about half way through the book, they reverted to normal behavior and eliminated the threat. Good read. Enjoy
